Gay bar terrorist Jacob Robida dies in police shootout

robida Jacob Robida, 18, entered Puzzles Lounge last week and asked the bartender if it was a gay bar. When he learned that it was, he pulled out a hatchet and struck a man in the head, then struck another man who tried to help the first victim. He then pulled out a gun and opened fire, shooting the man who tried tried to help as well as another patron. The bartender named Phillip says Robida aimed the gun at him, but he said that the gun failed to fire. "I heard a click, and his eyes were just squinted," Phillip said. Robida fled the scene and led police to Arkansas where he was killed during a shootout with police officers. Some believe Robida, a neo-Nazi, traveled to the area, headquarters of the Ku Klux Klan, in search of "safe houses" for those in the white power movement.

Regarding Robida's actions Glenn Miller of the White Freedom Party said, "I approve. Hell, I'd like to see that on TV every hour." Authorities found Nazi posters and paraphernalia in Robida's bedroom back home in New Bedford, as well as a note to his mother that declared ''goodbye mom; I'm sorry about what's happening to you and I love you. I had to go out by my means." Robida killed an Arkansas police officer and his passenger, Jennifer Rena Bailey before he was shot.

What is the matter with Barney Frank? New Bedford is in his district and he made a remark to the press about how this guy was a disturbed individual and not representative of the community at large.
What does it say about a community that doesn't seem to be upset that an 18 year old high school student has a swastika tatooed on his hand? Was Robida's mommy alarmed by his selection of paraphenalia and posters in his bedroom?
I wonder if Barney would feel the same way if he were sitting in Puzzles that night. It's just another random act of violence by a Nazi sympathizer on his way to the KKK headquarters. Thanks, Barney! You rock!!!

We all know that being gay or "OUT" has risks. It is very sad that both homophobia and heterophobia also go hand in hand. This troubled young man lost his life in Arkansas mostly from his fears and likely mental disorders. This is not the first as we recall the deaths from Andrew Cunanan a number of years back. I have seen many young people following suicides, some were gay, some were not. I receive no joy from officiating at these funerals as I did last weekend. Gay violence is waning, but there are still a few twisted souls to contend with and are not reachable to stop thier phobias. I have never been the victim of gay violence, but regretfullyI have interviewed many that have been. Gay marraige and strong anti-hate laws work. Paradise is an illusion. Equality is there, but the education needs to continue without faltering. We all need to be on guard for individuals that are a risk to us and society. Gays need to stop thinking of themselves as just queens and losers. Being gay has been a rewarding and great experience for me. It has not been the same for everyone. If ANYONE gay or straight needs my help , I will help them. I can only pray the rest of the gay community will disregard sexual orientation as I have tried at so many speaking engagements. Let us all just be human and caring people and less preocupied with our sexual identity. We can do it together.

It's rather difficult not to be 'preoccupied' with one's sexual identity with a magnum or baseball bat just about to leash it's all! Some of us are not in the idyllic position of only talking about such frivolities at 'speaking engagements'. For some of us, it's a little more than a patronising after dinner speech........
