I have personally known Clayton for about 12 years. He and I attended the same church together. Clayton has been on many of our family vacations with us including 3 trips to New York where he saw his first Broadway musical with us.

What has finding out that Clay is gay changed? Nothing.He is still the same person with a great voice.

All I can say is that Clay is a super great singer! I love his voice and stage presence. I once flew to a different city to see a Clay Aiken concert, and it was the most fun, upbeat, high energy concert I've ever been to. Worth every penny, and more.

I am so looking forward to Clay's future career, and will continue to support him in all his endeavors.

I thought Clay had a meaningful relationship with John Dahlstrom, his make-up man/hair stylist/dancer top. So is that off?

A lot of his fans are still in total denial about his sexual orientation, despite ample evidence as to his preference. I mean John D was certainly no secret.

The world is so corrupt that many do not recognize a nice guy anymore.

My friends are in the record industry, and are close friends with Clive Owen. While Clay was recording his christmas album, my friends spent time with him. Yes, he is gay. And truly it saddens me that he doesn't have the confidence nor the courage to just 'come out.' At this point, the lie he's telling (that's he's straight) is simply ruining his career. If he'd just be brave enough to the admit the truth, then at least a large part of the population would still be able to respect him. But the longer he denies being gay, he's simply managing to ostrasize what could be his greatest audience (the gay community.) It's so heartbreaking to me that he won't use his celebrity to actually help the gay cause...instead he's using it to imply there's something wrong with being gay.

Gay or not I hope he is practicing Safe Sex.

I don't want another Wonderful voice silenced like Freddie, due to risky behavior.

What Clay Aiken's personal life has to do with his ability to sing escapes me. I have never seen a performer lose their talent due to sexual preference. It is such a warped concept of reality that it boggles the mind. Would anyone writing these messages like to have their personal lives aired out on national press? I doubt it.

No matter what Clay's sexual preference is, John Paulus is a scumbag. Who would ever do that to someone they cared about even if it is true? This seems to be all about $$$ and nothing more. I can only hope this backfires and John Paulus's career goes down the dumper.

Someone in an above post said that Clay doesn't believe in pre-marital sex. Duh - Gay marriage is not legal (yet). So do you think he's gonna wait until it's legal to have sex with a partner. Don't think so.

I can understand that Clay Aiken is gay, but with a Marine?

Do you really want to know why people (like me) care about a Clay's sexuallity? For one it is because he is famous and inluences many people (Hell check out how many different forums there are on just this suject) It is also because children today listen to what is hot just like everyone else did in thier childhood. I personally would not like my children to become gay so any influence in that direction I would/will/do consider negative. Just like any GOOD parent would not let thier 5 year old son/dauther listen to say Slipknot, Eminem, and so on nor would they let them watch say pornographic or rated "R" movies would you? So no if Clay is gay or not does not matter to me, I'm not gay nor do I plan on become so, but to me it is the ifluence not the fact of if he is or isn't.

And on a side note, these Emo Homo's like AFI's leader singer are the reason for children today cutting themselves and wearing all black "because they are different"
