Scott Thompson's Buddy Cole is getting animated
One of my favorite Kids In The Hall sketches was the one where Buddy Cole, who bought the gay bar he was always hanging out in, found himself coaching his very own lesbian softball team - the Sappho Sluggers. Well the Here! gay television network is going to be bringing even more Buddy Cole to us - in an animated form. The new cartoon series for adults centering around Scott Thompson's character will apparently be running against a bullying "family values" city councilman. Can you imagine? Cole will also suddenly become a parent when his orphaned niece will show up on his doorstep.

it makes me a little nervous that he's running in opposition to a "family values" guy. if scott has enough creative control over the story, i'm sure it'll be handled smartly; but i don't like how gays are always portrayed as anti-family, even by themselves sometimes.
