Action call for queers to oppose Alito nomination
The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force is urging gays and lesbians to contact their U.S. senators to oppose Samuel Alito as a replacement for Sandra Day O'Connor on the Supreme Court. "The confirmation of Alito would put in mortal danger the constitutional and other legal rights and interests of LGBT people across the country," director Matt Foreman said. "If Alito serves on the Supreme Court, he will no longer be subject to any sort of review. He would team up with justices Scalia and Thomas to have their extremist views become the law of the land."
