Gerardo Eliud and Samir Habdu thrown out of hotel over gay kiss
Gerardo Eliud and Samir Habdu gave each other a kiss while they were in the swimming pool at theHotel Presidente InterContinental, a luxury hotel in Los Cabos, Mexico. They told police that security guards beat them up and threw them into the street with their luggage. When leftist deputies demanded an investigation into the incident in Congress this week, they were angrily shouted down by legislators from other parties who argued the subject was unfit for discussion in the chamber. Congress voted that the issue was not urgent and shelved it in a commission for analysis.
The Mexico City couple -Eliud, a 27-year-old public relations officer and Habdu, a 24-year-old air steward, explained, "It was a two-second kiss, we didn't even touch lips," adding that they chose the hotel because of the stated gay-friendly policy of its parent company. The hotel is claiming they were thrown out for "making inappropriate advances at other guests." (Thanks Dan-x)
