I've never thought that Mr. Spacey was gay, though I sure wished it. If he is, then it surprises me that he would deny it. He seems like he would have more confidence and pride in himself. It makes me sad that he feels like he has to hide it.

According to a gossip item from an Italian radio station, translated from Italian into English, Kevin Spacey had an Italian fiancé when he won the Oscar for American Beauty. The item stated that in spite of his declarations of love to the mysterious Dianne, Kevin was engaged to a model named Angela Melillo who he was reported to have met in 1997 during a vacation in Rome. Ms. Melillo was alleged to have told the press that the gay tendencies of the actor were inventions of the mass media.

"Kevin's private like Helen and best of all he's totally enchanted by her affections. Helen can pull an attitude or star-trip with Kevin and he'll just laugh it off."

A spokesman for Spacey confirmed the actor "has been secretly dating Helen for several weeks".

These are both articles which i have read and to be honest i totally believe. I take it you did not read the bull that the reporter from esquire wrote about another star? I guess not. Reports that show Kevin as a straight, private average bloke obviously hold no interest for the press. To sell their interview there needs to be a big storey if there isn't one they make them up. Are you really so stupid you don't know this?? And just to add a very good friend of mine works at The Old Vic and has said on more than one occasion the gay rumours about Spacey are fabricated.

There were several stories in SPY magazine in the '90s which seemed to indicate that Spacey is indeed gay or, at the very least, bi.

Perhaps one of the reasons that the highly-regarded magazine is now defunct.

Don't know if he's gay but I have questioned it. I've never seen him involved in the media with any woman, he's 48 and never been married, so it does make me wonder. My husband drove him once around Atlanta, where Mr. Spacey's mother now resides. My husband said he was quiet, talked on his cellphone a lot and had a Gibson guitar with him. When my husband tried to talk to him, Mr. Spacey was very aloof and unfriendly. He got upset with my husband when he couldn't find the right road to the small airport he was heading to for his flight. He left my husband a 20.00 tip. He is a cheapskate. And he is rude and unfriendly. A jerk so to speak. I'm not surprised, anyone who would go meet a "dictator for life" in private has got to have his scruples marred. My husband is one of the nicest people who, has a master's degree in education and drives a limo part-time - Mr. Spacey treated him like the "help"
