Is Kimberly Peirce's New York stay cursed?
Boys Don't Cry writer and director Kimberly Peirce is having a hell of a time while staying in New York City. The noteworthy lesbian who brought the Brandon Teena story to the big screen has been driven practically to tears. Page Six reports that while she was renting TV composer Steven Gold's luxury loft over the holidays, a large glass lighting fixture fell from the ceiling. She wasn't hurt, but she was rattled enough to move to the SoHo Grand Hotel where she supposedly had to change rooms after a steam heater inexplicably "exploded" and shot scalding water all over her suite. Did she recently unearth some cursed Egyptian artifacts or take a lover camping on an ancient indian burial ground? Peirce has several new films in the works including Silent Star, Stop-Loss and The Ice at the Bottom of the World.
