India should enact laws that protect their citizens from discrimination so that they can share their lives with whomever they choose and don't live in fear of their parents and society, and therby endanger themselves. Arranged marriages and forcing people to get married to the opposite sex, to keep up with farcical social norms, hurts the individual, partner, extended families and children who may be born into forced marriages. Spending ones life with whom they choose is a basic human right and a decision between a person and their god. Parents should bless and support and be there for their children.
