Oprah to produce The Color Purple as Broadway musical
Oprah Winfrey will produce a musical version of Alice Walker’s classic lesbian-themed novel "The Color Purple." She says, “I hope to open the door to the possibilities for a world of people who have never been or even thought of going to a Broadway show.” And in her usual style and humility, ahem, she's calling it: "Oprah Winfrey Presents: The Color Purple."
