TransGeneration brings trans issues to television

transgeneration A new documentary series on the Sundance Channel, TransGeneration, takes a look at four college students who are undergoing "gender transition" including Lucas, pictured. The idea for the series came about in spring of 2004, when executives at the channel saw a New York Times article about transgender students in colleges in the Northeast. Adam Pincus, the senior vice president of original programming on Sundance says, "These kids are pretty radically redefining what their gender identity means to them, and they're smart and they're articulate. ...We thought it would be a really interesting series."
