I think that people need to leave Kenny alone. He is a singer and a human being. His personal life is none of the publics busness. Please remember if you where in his shoes how you would feel.

I have worked in Nashville for years and it is widely known in Nashville that Kenny is gay. Even in conservative Music City, it is not a big deal. No one cares that Kenny is gay. People know about his lifestyle and they could care less. Let the man be happy. He is a tremendous singer and entertainer who is loved by millions of gay and straight people.

Kenny Chesney is not gay. He was engaged to another woman, and was with her for a long time. If he was gay, he wouldn't have kept her that long. They split and she got married, and he hooked up with Renee. I think he was still in love with his ex, and just wanted that special person in his life and to have a family and kids of his own. Renee is not a private person. Kenny is...and I think they split more just for differences that they would have seen later down the road had they not rushed into things. Four months is not enough time to really know someone...expecially with there lifestyles. Everyone makes mistakes in life, so get off his ass already. I am sure no one in this world is perfect, he is just another person, money or not. I for one love his music and even if I was lucky enough to meet him in person, I wouldn't treat him any different then my neighbor. I do however respect his privacy and his feelings. Im happy that you need respect Kenny, thats great, so do I. But, Everyone is intitled to their own opinions an you should learn how to respect that. Whether Kenny is gay or not, his music yes is great, so why is it such a huge deal to you that he is not. Kenny probably is gay. The country music industry is probably the hardest one to be different in. Randy Travis, Ty Herndon... The list is pretty extensive. I think it's great that Faith Hill and Tim Macgraw are so incredibly supportive for Kenny. Country music is changing, slowly, and fighting it every step of the way. Look at the grief that Faith Hill got for making "dance" remixes of Breath. Country music reflects the general beliefs of society. Most people have a great deal of media inspired homophobia. Until it is safe to come out, and by that I mean, until he's ready for his career to all but end, Kenny should stay in the closet.

I also know a friend who is Catholic, and she wanted her marrage annulled, and she had to file it fraud too, or they would not let her do it. She did not want that marrage to exist in the churches beliefs. That don't make her gay right away either. She is now the single mother of one kid from that annulled marrage, and about to marry again. Fraud is a number of things.

It's always been my belief that where there's smoke, there's fire. Kenny Chesney is insecure and hides more than just his sexuality. He's bald and is never seen without a hat because he's probably ashamed and embarrassed by his baldness. In the same way, I'd venture to guess that he's probably ashamed and embarrassed by his homosexuality. So he wears hats to hide his baldness and has "beards" to hide his gayness.

If his fans are so shallow and bigoted (and I would venture to guess the vast majority are) that they would abandon him and dimiss his talent because of his sexuality, that is indeed a shame. But, it is also the American way. We are a very bigoted and hateful people. Just look at some of the hate filled comments posted here, on a gay forum, by either homophobes or self hating gays regarding Chesney's rumored homosexuality. Homophobes come here because they want to do whatever they can to provoke gays or make their lives just a little more unhappy, because they're so unhappy with empty heterosexual existance. No doubt homely fat chicks and pimply faced computer geeks with no life and no "lifestyle". Interesting, I find that most homophobes can't live with us, but they can't live without us either.

So who cares if Chesney's gay? It's his burden to deal with on his terms. It's probably very true that if he comes "out" or is "outed" his country music career is dead. Let's face it, country music is not really known for it's diversity. The simple fact remains that even though everyone can speculate, NO ONE really knows if he's gay or not. All of these people posting comments saying "he's gay" or "no way he's gay" doesn't have a clue. Are you telling me that all these people can CONFIRM his sexuality? Give me a break... When Renee had the marriage dissolved due to "fraud", I couldnt figure out what that meant. If anyone has ever read the true story of Billy Tipton, they'll know what I am getting at. Billy was a famous musician in the 40s who was married 3 times. When he finally dropped dead of a heart attack in the 90s, the paramedics announced to his grown son, that his father had breasts and a vagina. This was a huge shock to all. Nobody knew if his wive's ever knew (read the book!!), When I look at Kenny Chesney, I see a feminine face, and an extremely small girlish frame. Something about him screams transsexual, or girl. Call me crazy but there is something more to this "fraud" claim.

I've often thought Kenny was gay well before the rumors. He is very good looking and masculine, but there is something about him that sort of clued me in to thinking he might be gay or bisexual. I think it is sad that he thinks he needs to hide behind a woman so that people think he is straight. I also think it is sad that our society, while making progress, still is very homophobic, and sets up gay celebrities for a damaged career if they don't live under a heterosexual facade. The question is: If Kenny is gay and Renee did not want to be married to a gay guy - then WHY did she marry him in the first place?

Surely we don't think Renee was a virgin at the wedding. So she had to have KNOWN *at the wedding* whether Kenny was gay, or not.

As a result, seems to me the troubles could not come from whether Kenny is gay or straight. She knew the answer to that going in and clearly whatever the answer to that question is - was OK with Renee at the time.

Has to be something else that went wrong. Maybe she thought he'd move north, take time off, be around more. (Just BE there, gay or straight, for her.) But he went right back out on the road almost immediately.

IF he's gay, Kenny may have thought he had a 'cover' - while Renee may have thought she had a friend/companion/escort who would be around a good deal.

But if he's not gay - then maybe they both thought the other would be a bit yielding and neither was...

In any event, the "is Kenny gay?" question couldn't possibly figure in (no matter which way Kenny swings) - as it is impossible to believe in this day and age that Renee didn't ALREADY KNOW the answer to that question when she said "I do".

I remember back in the mid 80's, I mentioned to a few women that George Michael was gay. They adamantly denied this, and told me that "I was just jealous of him".
What can be so obvious to guys, seems to be lost on women. Women seem to confuse wanting certain men to be straight, with the reality of the situation. I am a gay male living in Kansas City, Mo. One night while out at a local gay country club, a handsome "business man" approached me. We chatted for about 30min or so. Just because someone is gay does not mean they have to tell everyone. I, myself, found out that I was gay at about 8 or 9 years old and didn't have the guts to say it until I was 16. If Kenny Chesney is gay, there is no reason for him to have to tell everyone. It's scary coming out to this world. I know, I've done it. Think about how scary it would be for him? He's in the center stage with spotlights all over him, if he doesn't want to come out then leave him alone.

A few months ago on 60 minutes Kenny stated he WAS NOT gay and the only reason he didn't say anything before was because he didn't feel he had to. He knows he's NOT gay and that's all that matters.
