Phillies dis gay fans, allow homophobic banner

phillies.gif The Philadelphia Phillies sold a big block of tickets to a big block of gay baseball fans. Then they let Repent America hang some kind of homophobic banner in the park. "People have the right to express another opinion," says Phillies VP Mike Stiles. Columnist Debbie Woodell begs to differ. Stiles also said, in so many words, that gay people should expect to be mistreated. Meanwhile, the Phillies have written policies barring fan behavior "interfering with other guests' ability to enjoy the game," as well as banners that contain "fighting words likely to provoke a breach of the peace." Reason.com notes that the other fans booed Repent America.
