Gay Canadian Idol Dave Moffatt is trying it solo

moffatt Once upon a time a band called The Moffatts became a Canadian teen pop sensation that made four brothers - oldest Scott, and triplets Clint, Bob and Dave - household names. In October, 2001, the group broke up. Why? Dave realized he was gay and left home. Apparently he didn't speak to his father/manager for over a year. He went back to school at the University of Winnipeg, decided to become an actor/model, hosted a karaoke night at a local gay bar and he's finally back in the limelight trying his luck as a contestant on Canadian Idol. "I've never pursued anything solo before," he says. "I'd really like to see if my voice can make it to the Top-10." He's made it to the Top 32 and voters will begin deciding next week whether or not that will happen. Go Dave!
