Queer Eye and the Boston Red Sox

queer eye meets the red sox I told you in March that Queer Eye was making over the Boston Red Sox. Yesterday the Fab Five (minus one) arrived at Fenway Park (Thanks Andrew) to sing the national anthem and throw out the opening pitch. And on this week's Queer Eye season premiere they take on baseball's Johnny Damon, Jason Varitek, Kevin Millar, Tim Wakefield, and Doug Mirabelli. How is it? Salon's King Kaufman: "I was appalled. I never thought the Boston Red Sox could be this boring." Nevertheless, a season ticket holder remarked that 15 years ago it would have been unthinkable for a gay man to run out to the mound in a pink shirt to throw out the opening pitch. True, but apparently he doesn't know that we've been pitching and catching for years.
