Massachusetts Supremes deny gay marriage challenge

massachusetts marriage The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court said that gay marriages can continue today, rejecting a lawsuit and calling the attempt "purely academic." The court said it had previously denied a bid to halt gay marriages by C. Joseph Doyle, executive director of the Catholic Action League. "Nothing has transpired in the interim that materially changes the situation or which warrants the truly extraordinary measures sought now," the court wrote.
