Richard McCullough gets 20 years for Sakia Gunn murder
Richard McCullough admitted that he fatally stabbed 15-year-old Sakia Gunn during a confrontation about her being a lesbian. He was sentenced yesterday to 20 years in prison, having previously faced up to 30 years before pleading guilty last month to aggravated manslaughter, aggravated assault and bias intimidation. Sakia Gunn, pictured, and four other girls were waiting for a bus in downtown Newark, New Jersey, when McCullough and another man drove up and asked them if they wanted to go to a party. The girls responded that they were lesbians. The men began spewing homophobic insults and McCullough stabbed her.
