Gay rights threatened by religious rights bill

santorum Major homophobe Republican Senator Rick Santorum and former presidential candidate John Kerry have introduced a bill to amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to require employers to do more to accomodate religious employees. Even Senator Hillary Clinton has signed on to the idea of protecting people from being penalized for taking time off to observe religious holidays or wearing turbans and such. While good intentioned, we already see the God Hates Fags signs posted in offices, hear the preaching at work about the sins of the homosexual lifestyle, not to mention the refusals to work with us on religious grounds. It's frightening. Washington Blade
