Small-town mom does the right thing and embraces lesbian daughter

sfuras.jpg Eva Sfura of Griffith, Indiana, feared telling her mom, Maria, that she is lesbian. What Eva didn't know was that her mother would embrace her, literally and immediately. "You gave birth to this child. God gave you this gift," Maria says. "God put children on this earth for a reason and he gives you a responsibility to raise these children and he tells you to love them the way he has loved us. Anybody that can turn their back on their child is not a parent. How can you tell someone all these years, 'I love you,' and then turn it off like an electric switch." This happy ending brought to you by Queer Day.
