Minnesota upholds Billy Graham firing of lesbian Sara Thorson

bgraham.jpg A Minnesota appeals court upheld the dismissal of lesbian Sara Thorson by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, finding that the organization qualified for a religious exemption from the state's ban on sexual orientation discrimination. The unanimous October 19 ruling affirmed a decision by a Minneapolis trial court. Thorson, a closeted 30-year employee of the organization made the mistake of kissing another woman in the parking lot at work. This apparently disqualified her from supervising bulk mail.
